Africa trekking safaris top tourist attractions
There are many Africa trekking safaris to explore, but we have highlighted few top destination here.
1: Mount Kilimanjaro

Located in Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is Africa’s tallest mountain at about 5,895 meters (19,340 feet). It is the largest free-standing mountain rise in the world, meaning it is not part of a mountain range. The mountain is made up of three peaks which are Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Kibo is the summit of the mountain and the tallest of the three volcanic formations. While Mawenzi and Shira are extinct. If you are an adventure lover this is the place to quench your thirst.
2: Mount Kenya

Africa's second-highest mountain is Mount Kenya. Lenana (4985m) is the mountain trekkers seek out, but the highest summits Batian (5200m) and Nelion (5188m) call for some technical climbing. The woodland and moorland that cover Mount Kenya's slopes give way to rock, ice, and snow. It is a part of a larger reserve, the mountain.
When climbing Mount Kenya, the optimum months are January through February and July through October. On the mountain, you can camp or stay in cottages.
3: The Drakensberg

The Drakensberg, which means "barrier of spears" in Zulu, is the tallest mountain range in South Africa. Its lower elevations are ideal for bird watching, horseback riding, day walks, and viewing San Rock Art. Treks with higher passes are more difficult.
The "Drakensberg Traverse," a 2- to a 3-week trip that includes several of the Drakensberg's massive peaks and stunning pinnacles, including the Tugela Falls, which plunge over 3000 feet and crash over five distinct levels, is recommended for serious hikers. Try the breathtaking hike from the Sentinel to the Cathedral if you don't have that much time.
4: Mount Meru

At 4,566 meters, Mount Meru is the second-highest mountain in Tanzania (14,980 ft). It is frequently used as a practice acclimatization run for Mount Kilimanjaro, which is nearby. It takes 3–4 days to make the ascent to the summit of this fairly attractive volcano. Old, dense rain forests with fig trees line the road, which then continues over heather and stony moors. Along the walk, hundreds of different bird species can be seen, as well as buffalo, baboons, and giraffes.
August through October are the ideal months to hike. Hikers spend the evenings in modest well-tended shelters along the path. The best course of action is to plan your trip in advance because an armed ranger is required.
5: Rwenzori Mountains

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Uganda share a border with the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon), which are located just north of the Equator. With twin summits that are each over 5,000 meters high, Mount Stanley is the highest mountain in the group and Africa's third-tallest mountain. The peaks are covered in everlasting glaciers.
The Central Circuit, which takes 4–10 days to complete, is the main route to Mount Stanley's peaks. You'll run across bogs, stones, glaciers, elephants, and dense forests along the way. It is required to have guides and armed rangers. Along the roads are simple cottages. Best season to trek is December - February and June - August.
