Kibo Hut (4700m) - Uhuru Peak (5895m) - Horombo Hut (3700m)

The moment every climber dreams of has arrived: Summit Day – the highlight of your Kilimanjaro adventure! To make the ascent easier, the trek begins at night while the lava ash trail is still frozen. Your experienced guide will wake you around 11:00 pm, and an hour later, you’ll begin the long but rewarding climb toward the summit.

The trail passes the Hans Meyer Cave (5,220m) as you steadily ascend through the dark. Just as the sun rises, you’ll reach Gillman’s Point (5,681m) on the crater rim of Kilimanjaro, where the first warm rays illuminate the spectacular landscape. After another 1–2 hours of trekking, you will triumphantly arrive at Uhuru Peak (5,895m) – the Roof of Africa. Celebrate this unforgettable achievement and soak in the breathtaking panoramic views.

The descent follows the same path, and with the lava ash now thawed, it allows for a faster return. Upon reaching Kibo Hut, enjoy a warm meal and recover your energy. After a short 1–2 hour rest, continue descending to Horombo Hut (3,700m), arriving in the afternoon. Following dinner, climbers typically enjoy a well-earned rest after this epic day.
