Tarangire National Park

After a wonderful breakfast at your hotel, depart from your Arusha hotel to Tarangire National Park. At 2,600km², Tarangire is far from being the biggest of the Tanzanian parks, but its unrivaled landscape of open plains, dotted with thousands of baobabs, is unforgettable. About 120kms south of Arusha. Tarangire is known for its tree-climbing lions and for its very big herds of buffalo. This is one of Africa’s little-known gems and should be on the itinerary of all lovers of wilderness and solitude. The game numbers are staggering: 30,000 zebra, 25,000 wildebeest, 5,000 buffalo, 3,000 elephant, 2,500 Maasai giraffe and over 1,000 fringe-eared Oryx (gemsbok). Predators include lion, cheetah, and leopard and birders will want to look out for the endemic ashy starling, Rufous-tailed Weaver, and Black-collared lovebird. End of the afternoon drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Lake Manyara National Park

Depart after breakfast and drive across the Great Rif Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. Although only 205 sq. miles in size this enchanting park is noted for its beauty and incredibly lush acacia forest of giant figs and mahogany trees, which are home to troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park is also home to a large number of buffalos, giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a Hippo lake, where large numbers of hippos usually gather. Well known for its birds (over 400 different species), Lake Manyara is one of the few places where you'll be able to see the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle. This park has become famous for the climbing lions and the flamingos on the lakeshore. The landscapes of this park are absolutely stunning. The game drives are done along the shore of the lake, providing incredible views of giraffes and buffalos in the foreground with the lake, flamingos, and flat plains on the horizon. In the afternoon, return to Lodge for dinner.

Serengeti National park

Today you're off to the famous Serengeti National Park, home of the Great Migration. Your drive today is spectacular as you drive up the crater highlands, stopping at the rim for a bird’s eye view of the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. Continuing on, as you crest the hillside, spread out before you, as far as the eyes can see, is the vast Serengeti Serengeti means "endless plains" in Kiswahili, and this 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) park is inhabited by more than 2 million large animals including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson's gazelles. Large predators including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to the area by this abundance of prey which migrates throughout the park. Many smaller animals like rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also inhabit the area along with nearly 500 species of birds. Afternoon game drives en-route to camp for dinner and overnight stray.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Today you will wake up very early to do an early morning safari before breakfast, to spot the animals when they are more active, and also to have a fantastic sunrise in front of you. The sunrise in the African Savannah is one of the most beautiful experiences one can have. After the game drive, return to the camp for brunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Ngorongoro, the 8th natural wonder of the world. With walls, 2,000 f high and a crater floor that spreads for 102 sq. miles, the crater is a virtual Noah's Ark, inhabited by almost every species of wildlife indigenous to East Africa including the rare black rhino. The crater contains the river, several swamps, and a soda lake that, from the top, looks like steam, full of flamingoes, a forest, and open plains. Arrived in Ngorongoro in the afternoon and drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Lake Eyasi and the Hadzabe Tribe

Today will be a delightful and different day. You will wake up very early, just before sunrise, and follow your guide until he finds the Hadza people, one of the last truly nomadic tribes in Africa. After some explanations about the tribe, you will join them in their daily morning activities.

This experience is out of the beaten track and does not feel touristic. The photographic opportunities are out of this world. This tour will be a highlight of your safari. The experiences you have with the Hadza people can be joining the men in their daily hunting or the women in their fruit-gathering session. You will learn about many aspects of the Hadzabe way of living. After finishing the activities with the Hadza people, you will visit the beautiful Lake Eyasi, a seasonal shallow Salt Lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, followed by a return to Arusha town for drop off at your hotel or any point in town.
