A Bucket List Trek for the Adventurous Traveler. Mount Meru is the third-highest mountain in Tanzania, and it is a challenging but rewarding climb. The mountain is located in Arusha National Park, which is home to a variety of wildlife, including baboons, buffaloes, giraffes, and elephants.

The ascent of Mount Meru takes you through four different vegetation zones: grassland, rainforest, heath, and alpine desert. The final 1,000 meters of the climb are quite steep, but the views from the summit are absolutely stunning. The Mount Meru climb is a great way to acclimatize for the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is also a challenging and rewarding trek in its own right. The climb is typically done in 4 days, but experienced hikers can complete it in 3 days. Overnight stays are in simple wooden huts.

If you are looking for a bucket list trek that will challenge you both physically and mentally, then the Mount Meru climb is the perfect choice for you.
